About the Go Tech Team
Go Tech started life as Murdoch Computer Services, a part time work from home computer repair service run by Joel Murdoch. It eventually became Murdoch Computer and Web Services, well and truly cementing the idea that while he is good at fixing computers, Joel is terrible at naming businesses. He joined forces with a phone and tablet technician who suggested the far less clumsy and much catchier name of Go Tech. Since then we have gone from strength to strength, and now have a dedicated shop at 65 Mackay Street in Greymouth.
Joel is Go Tech's owner, manager, primary computer technician, web designer and web hosting server administrator. He first started working with computers in 1992 when he was 12 years old. He was not merely using them, but learning how everything functioned and what to do when things went wrong. It was an almost instinctual thing, right from the beginning. By the end of that year, he was already known around school as a "computer guy", and that has never changed. While he has some experience with Apple computers, he mostly handles Windows machines. He also has years of professional experience as a web designer, web app developer, and web hosting server administrator.
Mark is Go Tech's phone and tablet technician. He has expertise with both iOS devices (iPad, iPod, and iPhone) and Android ones. Mark comes from a strong technical background, having studied under his father who was a professional electrician. He brings that knowledge and attention to detail to his work with Go Tech.
